Independent Bookstores are not just stores, They're community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. They are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. They are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.

Independent Bookstore Day grew out of the highly successful California Bookstore Day in 2014 to encompass Independent Bookstores nationwide in 2015. To celebrate the day, Maria's Bookshop will host 13 local authors at various times from 10 AM - 5 PM. They will be on roaming the store helping customers by offering them recommendations of their favorite books and authors - and answering questions about their own writing and experiences. These local authors - and the times of their appearance - include:
