Thank you for visiting my website!  My novels to date include Hush Money (May 8, 2012), a legal mystery set in the contemporary world of equestrian show-jumping, and Hard Twisted (Fall 2012), a gritty work of Depression-era crime fiction based on true events.

Although starkly different in both tone and subject matter, both books draw upon the twenty-five years that I spent in courtrooms throughout California.  Both are also rooted in my lifelong passion for great literature – everything from genre fiction to general fiction to literary fiction – and in my fascination with the foibles and frailties of the human condition.

My legal mysteries are published by St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books under the name Chuck Greaves.  My literary fiction will be published by Bloomsbury under the name C. Joseph Greaves.  My hope is that, whatever your reading tastes, you’ll find something true in all of my writing.
