When Weil returned from meeting with the mysterious Mr. Marr in Queens (at attorney Henry Vollmer’s office, at 161 Jamaica Avenue), he left the Horvath/Kelly letter for Levy with a handwritten note describing the meeting. According to Marr, the Horvath/Kelly letter was surreptitiously passed from the witness, behind the back of her police escort, to the wife of the owner of Monroe’s Tavern on 76th Street in Manhattan.
The Weil note provides further corroboration, if any is needed, as to the manner in which Horvath/Kelly first made contact with the defense.
